ACADEMIC EXCHANGE

Academic Exchange with Ohio State University

Ohio State University (OSU)is a major public land-grant institution in Columbus, Ohio founded in 1870. With over 60,000 students, it is high in the World University Rankings. OSU has partnerships with several universities in Japan. In March 2017, the Graduate School of Informatics of Nagoya University signed an academic exchange agreement with the Translational Data Analytics Institute (TDAI) of OSU. This exchange program promotes faculty exchanges and research collaborations. By the end of 2020, three OSU faculty members were invited to stay at Nagoya University, and a total of five graduate students visited their counterpart university as exchange students.

The renewal of the academic exchange program in March 2020 was expanded to include the Graduate Schools of Medicine and Engineering of Nagoya University. This new partnership should increase faculty and student exchanges while promoting research collaborations by organizing conferences and online seminars in data science.

To seek multidisciplinary data-driven solutions for grand challenges in businesses, industries, and communities, TDAI encourages collaborations of OSU faculty and students beyond their discipline. The following three videos called Big Data for Good summarize their work.
